Toymax released several lines of Popples in 2001. They resemble the 80s Popples.
New York Toyfair promo Popples[]
Two promo Popples were displayed at the New York Toyfair in 2001, that look just like the later named "Cutie Fruitys" but are slightly larger. They have both a clip-on and a keychain. One is a yellow Popple named Lemon Drop, and the other is a green Popple named Apple Crisp. Both would go on to be in the Cutie Fruity line, though Lemon Drop's name was changed to Lemon Ade.
Cutie Fruity Popples[]
There are four Cutie-Fruity Popples. These are the first wave of new Popples put out by Toymax in 2001. Each on is a clip-on and is about 4″ tall. There are two variations of each Popple, one with and without fruit embroidery on foot. Each Popple has a stem or flower on its head, leaf ears, a colored belly, a small embroidered fruit on left-side of its chest, and its name embroidered on the outside of its pouch. They were available at K-B Toys near the cash register in the candy section for $3.99 each. They were also available at some Hot Topic stores.

Basic Popples[]
There are three basic Popples, or classic Popples. The new Basic Popples are 13″ tall. Each one has its name embroidered on its left foot and comes with a bonus video of “Classic Popples” cartoons from the 80’s. They all have antenna and come in a variety of colors.
Two Popples came in special bundles with a mini Popple pal similar to the Cutie-Fruity Popples. They have hair and ears instead of fruit stems. The basic Popples themselves had minor differences to the non-pal versions, including names at the top of the box, and the foot embroidery adding the word "Popple' to the end of their names ("Pixie Doodle Popple" and "Polka Dottie Popple").

Snoozy Time Popples[]
There was only one Snooze-time Popple. It has five yellow star-shaped lights on his body that light up red when you press its hand, which stay on for 1 to 2 minutes.

Glow Charm Popples[]
There are three Glow-Charm Popples, also known as Charm Popples. The Glow Charm Popples are 15″ tall and transform into pouches with shapes. Each one has its name embroidered on its left foot. When you squeeze a Charm Popple’s ear, its plastic charms light up and it giggles or sings. Each sings a different song.

Popples Bank[]
The Popples Bank is 9″ tall and also has its name embroidered on its left foot. There is a place to put money in on the back of the head and a zipper on the bottom to get the money out. It has the same name as one of the Basic Popples but does not resemble it.

Celebrity Popples[]
On Nov. 15 there were 9 Popples put up for auction on Ebay. Bidding started on the 16th. They are one of a kind Popples designed by fashion designers, musicians & actors, and also come with the original template that the designers used to design the one of a kind popples. All of the Popples started out at a $50 bid price. The highest sold for $405. All the proceeds went to The Starbright Foundation.
